About the ResortJasna in the 'Low Tatras' is Slovakia’s largest ski area and both provides a variety of red and black runs for intermediate and advanced skiers, while being a great place to learn, with patient instructors and gentle slopes by the hotels. Despite its name, the mountains are not 'low', but peak at over 2,000m and have an excellent snow record.
The ski area is made up of the north and south sides of the Chopok mountain, with skiing right down to the Grand Hotel Jasna, the bars and après ski on the north side, while more advanced skiers and boarders will love Chopok south, with its powder, off-piste and wide open ski area.

Our resorts – one lift pass covers all!
The Tatry Mountains include two separate mountain ranges, 50 minutes’ apart. The Low Tatras are slightly lower than the High Tatras, offer superior skiing, dedicated ski resorts and a good lift infrastructure. The High Tatras have a handful of runs, good lift infrastructure, exceptional hotels and are for clients less committed to skiing, who want to enjoy high accommodation standards in a winter wonderland.
JASNA under the Chopok peak is currently the biggest Slovak ski centre. Considering
infrastructure, Jasna is divided into four resorts: Chopok north Zahradky,
Jasna,
Otupne and Chopok south.
All in total 31 km trails - 22 km on north and 9 km
on south of Chopok, offering all difficulty levels, that is a guarantee of
satisfaction for everyone (27% of the tracks are easy, 49% medium and 24% difficult).
6 lifts are suitable for children.
Lifts and cable ways are running from the
above-see-level 900 m up to 2004 m asl.
Good snow conditions are guaranteed
by a fully-automatic high-pressure snowing system York Niege (96 static snow
cannons are installed on the hills, covering almost 12 km of the key running
tracks). Approximately 2 km of the tracks is illuminated, this allowing night
skiing.
Important reinforcement
of the centre transport capacity has brought the new Doppelmayer six-chair-lift
with a bubble. Total transport capacity of northern and southern sides is
20 985 persons per hour.
Every lover of extreme sports and wild rides will
surely enjoy three freeride zones , traditionally offering great snow conditions.
Adrenaline and precise technique fans can anytime during the winter season
practice/ride in a free-accessible snowboard park, open for both snowboarders
and freestyle skiers. We have something for skialpinist too. You can try kitewing,
snowrafting, paragliding, or ice-skating rink.
In addition to the above mentioned
attractions, we also offer 2 finished cross country circuits/tracks that can
be mechanically modified.
Winter at JASNÁ NÍZKE TATRY,
Low Tatras ... Slovakia’s leading ski
resort
Jasná Nízke Tatry (the Low Tatras) is Slovakia’s
largest ski area, the official candidate for the ALPINE FIS SKI WORLD CUP 2010/2011
and this year skiers will have the benefits of a new snow-making system, guaranteeing
snow for five months of the year, creating a further 15kms of skiable pistes.
Skiing at Jasná is on both the north and south slopes of the Chopok
mountain in the Low Tatras, just 45 miinutes from Poprad international airport
with three times weekly flights direct from London Luton and direct flights
from Manchester into Slovakia’s second city of Kosice, 2 hours from the
slopes. The resort has a ski lift infrastructure capably of carrying over 21,000
persons/ hour.
Multi-area ski passes and short transfers between the resorts of the High
and Low Tatras resorts, 50 minutes apart, enable visitors to enjoy skiing in
a number ski areas during the same trip, including Jasná, Tatranská Lomnica,
Jamy, Starý Smokovec and at Liptovská Teplička, jointly
offering 12 cableways and 30 ski with a capacity of 31, 500 persons an hour.

Ski facilities all in one place
Jasná’s ski school, kindergarten, ski hire and ski service can
be found next to the cableway stations. Here experienced and professional ski
instructors offer lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers,
individually or in groups, including the chance to savour the adrenaline of
the free-ride zones and the snow park, with free access for both snowboarders
and skiers all season long. The youngest skiers and beginners enjoy the largest
children’s winter area in Slovakia – MAXiland - on
a 4,000m2 area with an efficient belt conveyer.
New restaurants
Right next to the slopes are two new restaurants offering panoramic views of
Jasna’s slopes and close by skiers will find 4 new Aprés ski
bars with good music, 1 new snack bar and the first museum a la carte restaurant
Pizza von Roll. Nigh skiing and paintballing complete the evening attractions.
Chopok hill South
Investment in piste widening has made the southern slopes of the Chopok hill
excellent for skiers of all abilities while off piste can still be enjoyed.
Children will be welcomed at the Maxiland – a children’s park
with a rope ski lift.

An après ski bar is located at the foot of the slopes at Biela Put, a short walk from the Grand Hotel Jasna.
During the evenings most of the après ski entertainment is centred within hotels, or on the slopes at Jasna, which is located 15 minutes from the main town of Liptovsky Mikulas, accessible by taxi, c. 40 euros return.

Getting to JasnaFLIGHTS
Krakow airport has excellent flying links with most major UK airports and offers an efficient air-lift into Poland, with transfer times of around 2 hours to the Tatry Mountains.
However, Poprad airport is only 20 minutes from Tatranska Lomnica and 50 minutes from Jasna and negotiations are underway for a new international route to the UK.
Bratislava airport has direct train links with Liptovsky Mikulas, take 3.5 – 4.5 hours and cost just 30 euros return. Mikulas is a 15 minutes taxi ride to Jasna, 45 minutes to the High Tatras.
TRANSFERS
TMR provide transfers and a rep service to meet and greet clients on the Sunday easyJet service from Krakow to Jasna throughout the main ski and summer seasons and at other times by arrangements and according to party size.
Transfers are booked and managed by Petra Suhajdova using only English speaking drivers who are approved by TMR, booked direct by the company and not via agencies.
